Saint Paul
Saint Paul—apostle to the Gentiles. Paul was highly educated and after his conversion, he held a leading role in the development of Christian theology. Paul encourages people to take up the “sword of the Spirit,” which is the Word of God. He was a Hebrew scholar and missionary who taught that Jesus was foretold in the Old Testament. Saint Paul wrote much of the New Testament. Feast day: June 29 Symbols: book, scroll, sword
