Finance Committee

Canon Law requires that “In each Parish there is to be a finance committee to help the parish priest in the administration of the goods of the parish.”  (Code of Canon Law 537).

The Finance Committee:

  • Advises the Pastor on the ongoing maintenance of the Church and School as well as overseeing any projects on these buildings.
  • Is responsible, on a continuing basis, for ensuring that proper records of income and expenditure are maintained and that an account of administration is given to the parishioners at the end of each financial year.
  • Has a responsibility to ensure that the parish maintains a balanced budget.
