St. Charles Religious Education for Children in all grades K-1-2-3-4
Registration for Second Grade and Sacramental Preparation First Reconciliation/First Eucharist is closed.
Registration for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd Grade and 4th Grade is open.
Given the pandemic, and to protect our catechists, children and families, Religious Ed K-4 this year will start virtually and is subject to change in these circumstances.
The mission of Religious Education K-4 is to support our young parishioners and their families in their faith formation and growth.
For all Grades – Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade and 4th Grade, we will be incorporating Whole Family Faith Formation. The virtual format is the child and a parent, grandparent or other adult, who will log into the classes led by teachers. The classes will include group interaction, learning, and time for sharing between the child and his or her parent/grandparent/other adult.
All classes will be on Sundays from 9:45–10:45 AM*
The program has twenty (20) classes:
ten (10) in the Fall/Winter
ten (10) in the Winter/Spring. The program calendar is posted on the right side of this page.
Alison Spong, Coordinator for Religious Education K-4 can be contacted at 650-591-7349, ext. 407 or at email@example.com.
Sacramental Preparation - First Reconciliation/First Eucharist will be provided in conjunction with the 2nd Grade class at St. Charles School. This Program consists of the 2nd Grade Religious Ed class listed above AND two retreats (currently virtual), a Faith Journal, and other preparatory activities.
NOTE: If you are registering a child in Second Grade who is able to receive First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (second year of the program), be sure to check BOTH RE K-4 program AND First Reconciliation/First Eucharist (Sacramental Preparation). There is a separate fee for each.
For questions or more information, contact Alison Spong, firstname.lastname@example.org or 650-591-7349, ext. 407.
*Classes will not be offered on Monday afternoons. 2nd Grade Classes will not be offered on Wednesday evenings given the potential for “virtual learning fatigue” after a day of virtual schooling.
