Confirmation at St. Charles
"The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation by which the baptized “are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”
(Take from the 2nd Vatican Council document entitled, Lumen
Gentium, no. 11; Cf. OC, Introduction 2.
The St. Charles Confirmation Program endeavors to help our high school
youth explore and more fully recognize the spiritual gifts they have
been given at their Baptism in order to more fully accept for themselves
a commitment to their faith and to grow closer in relationship with
our Lord Jesus Christ. We also encourage our young people to use their
unique gifts and talents to enter into parish life on a deeper level.
Confirmation
preparation sessions are offered in two phases that span over a two-school-year
period. Students may participate at any time in their high school career, but
typically
students begin the program freshman year and receive Confirmation as sophomores.
