"Angels in Action" is a division of our youth group that focuses on reaching out to the elderly and homebound in our parish with encouragement, companionship, meals, and help with various projects around the house. If you would like to be on our "on-call" list of angels, please contact us .

In addition to our "on-call" projects, our youth group regularly makes/delivers cards and goodies to the elderly and homebound of our parish at Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter.

Mexico Mission Trip

St. Charles teens and adult volunteers have recently completed their 16th annual Mexico Mission trip to help build hope in Mexico. We work with Amor Ministries (based in San Diego) each summer to build homes for needy families.

This past summer 60 of us built two homes in the Rosarito area. Amor Ministries takes every precaution to make sure that the trip is safe for all involved. We travel in vans and bring our own food, tools, luggage, and camping equipment. Our camping area is secure, and we are provided with fresh drinking water.

On our most recent trip, we had many who had been on the trip several times and others learned how to hammer, saw, wrap chicken wire, and stucco for the first time. We worked side-by-side with the Mexican family to create a solid home with a concrete floor, a roof, windows, and a door that locks. Fr. Dave blessed the homes, then we left with hugs, tears, and good memories.

This mission trip is a total parish effort which includes those who travel to Mexico and do the actual work plus all those who contribute their prayers and financial support to make it happen.
