Funerals

Funerals

In the face of death, the Church confidently proclaims that God has created each person for eternal life and that Jesus, by his death and resurrection, has destroyed death forever.

Christians celebrate the funeral rites to offer worship, praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of life which has now been returned to God, the author of life. We pray for the person who has died asking for the forgiveness of sin and the gift of everlasting life.

St Charles Consolation Ministry

The St Charles Consolation Ministry is a group of Lay Ministers trained by the Archdiocese of San Francisco to support our parish community by offering comfort and support to those who have suffered loss.

The Consolation Ministry also plans the “Scroll Mass” and lunch reception, which is held in November. This Mass remembers and celebrates the lives of the deceased members of our parish community.
